Plenum

Another benefit to using the hi-velocity system is that you can use off-the-shelf round sheet metal plenum components.  You aren’t required to get a specific plenum to make the system work and fit together.  Most of the time for a 1-zone system that will be an 8″ (1.5 to 3.0 Tons) or 10″ (3.5 to 5.0 Tons) round sheet metal with an insulation sleeve.  If you are doing zoning you will be using 6″, 8″ or 10″ round sheet metal plenums for each zone, depending on the system size.  Check the tables below:
